My full academic profile and publications are available at Academia.edu
My main research interests are:
  •  Art and Cognition: drawing as a trans-disciplinary tool of thought, the development of spatial reasoning through art and design education, empirical aesthetics
  • Arts integration in K-12 education: drawing across the curriculum, art and design thinking in STEM disciplines, the impact of arts integration on educational equity in high-poverty schools and communities
  •  Arts-based research and contemporary arts practices in pre-service and in-service K-12 teacher education
I am deeply indebted to cognitive psychologist Barbara Tversky.   Her guidance was invaluable in my dissertation research and her work on spatial cognition and tools of thought continues to inspire much of my current scholarly work..
