Artist, educator, and researcher working at the intersection of drawing, painting, and cognition.
My work explores how making marks
slows usdown and sharpens attention:
to the natural worldand to inner experience.

I’m the author of Drawing Thought  (MIT Press)
and an Associate Professor in the
Art Education Program at SUNY New Paltz.
My artwork is represented by
The Painting Center, New York City, and
Kenise Barnes Fine Art, Kent, Connecticut.
